Date of visit: June Reviewed June 6, Not worth the cost. We were able to watch the races from Service was ok. There was a problem when it was time to pay the tab.
The host paying for the meal did not realize this and paid his tip over and above. Also, four of the party were seniors and were charged as adults.
The reasoning apparently was that none of us looked like seniors nice try haha. After the bill was paid, our friend noticed the mistakes and informed the waitress, who brought over the manager.
Eventually he was able to correct it all and we left satisfied. Kudos for addressing the issues. The restaurant is situated in full view of Northlands horse track.
Full buffet, salads, warm dishes and desserts. Quality very good with supplemental table service also very good.
Would recommend if going to the track or casino. It's a shame, because there is potential in this place because the venue is nice and open and the horse races are so fun to watch.
We were here for a dinner buffet, and the food was terrible. There was store-bought mushy vegetables I recognized It was the most fishy thing I have ever tasted and I lost my appetite after eating one bite of it.
The staff were also very inattentive, and we waited over half an hour for drinks that were watered-down.
I ended up grabbing a slice from Pizza 73 and was quite happy. I recommend coming to enjoy the races, but do not eat here.
Horrible buffet not worth the price. Use it to find new customers. Contact us Search. Have frequented Colours Restaurant multiple times over the years.
Was always a wonderful evening at the races - that has changed. Menu used to be ok - enough choices to satisfy and the cost was average.
We had a REALLY good time! The only down-side was the long line up to get our meal. It seemed the problem was to get the prime rib sliced Each person had to wait for that ONE person to cut and serve every single person.
It took us over a half hour to get through the line. The rest of it was awesome and our server Table F6 was amazing We would look at doing this again.
We had a great time. Meal was excellent and so was the service. Having to get own cold food and really no service. Buffet had limited options and most was not great.
Terrible buffet who serves stew at a brunch and if you do you should have mashed potatoes to go with it. Buffet looked great however hot food was barely warm.
Table we chose was perfect, races great and betting windows moved quickly. Dessert was excellent! Such a fun night, you will be sorely missed.
We will try to make it back again before the end of the season. Service was very attentive and friendly. It was so much better when they had menu service for everyone.
Busier too. The meat was a bit tough but otherwise we enjoyed ourselves very much. We appreciated being able to book such awesome tables.
Lots of fun. This dining time was using a gift certificate from a previous dinner that two of us couldn't attend. Devin Davis did an excellent job in following our booking through to ensure that we had a great experience.
All of the credit goes to Devin. The overall experience was very enjoyable. Not much food selection for a buffet to choose from, there was a good selection of desserts though.
The salads were good and the desserts were awesome. I was not that impressed with the main dishes. I would have rather just had lunch, than trying to make it a brunch.
We enjoy the horse races and it makes for a nice afternoon if you add in lunch. However, the buffet was so poor that it totally detracted from the experience.
We are not fussy and did not expect fine dining, but what a disappointment. One of the frustrating points was the selection - is this breakfast or is this lunch?
We went assuming that at it would be a lunch buffet. Our selection consisted of eggs, French toast, sausage, and hashbrowns.
Then there was beef, pork and mixed vegetables. If you like roast beef and scrambled eggs, then you might be ok.
The price tag was way out of line for what we received. Food is excellent this year. This dining time was using Spider Solitaire Deutsch gift certificate from a previous dinner that two of us couldn't attend.
